3rd annual Northeast Washington Mushroom Festival on May 3, 2025
The 3rd annual Northeast Washington Mushroom Festival is a family-friendly event celebrating and exploring the world of fungi! This festival features a mushroom foray hunt and contests, mushroom and fungi identification table, presentations by mycologists, demonstrations, children's activities, live music, art and costume contests and lots of vendors and culinary mushrooms for sale!
SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES ON 5/3/2025:
7:30am – 9:00am – Vendor Load-in
9:00am - 9:30am - Check-in and Register for Foray
9:40 - 10:00am - Mushroom Foray Contest Briefing & Guidelines
10:00am – Festival opens. Vending in Park & Mushroom Foray Hunting Begins
10:30am – 1:30pm – Mycology Presentations and Children’s Activities
2:00 – 4:00pm – Demonstrations, Children’s Activities, Mushroom Identification and Contest Judging (Art and Costume Judging from 3:00 – 3:30)
4:00pm – Announce Contest and Raffle Winners
4:30 – 5:30pm – Mycology Presentation5:30 – 7:00pm – Music and Dancing
7:00pm – Festival ends. Please exit by dark.
The location of the festival is at the Happy Dell Park located at 425 W 3rd Ave. (also Hwy 395) and the corner of Juniper Street in Kettle Falls, WA. The festival kicks off at 10:00am and ends at 7:00pm.
VENDORS: Load-in begins at 7:30am through 9:00am. Vending, festival and mushroom foray begins at 10:00am. Vendors can only enter 4 - 6 at a time on a service road and unload then move your vehicle to the parking area. Vendors may exit between 5:00pm - 8:00pm. The festival ends at 7:00pm.
FORAY PARTICIPANTS: Sign-in and registration begins at 9:00am at the registration booth on the field. A briefing and overview will begin at 9:40am by the stage. Participants are required to attend the briefing for safety and foraging guidelines. Return to the festival with your mushrooms by 2:00pm for identification and to enter them into the foray contest. Contest winners are announced at 4:00pm at the stage. Please bring your own baskets or mesh bags and tools for gathering fungi.
ART AND COSTUME CONTESTANTS: Register at the registration booth between 10:00am – 2:30pm. Contest judging will happen between 3:00 – 3:30pm. Winners are announced at 4:00pm at the stage.
VENDOR AND FORAY TICKET SALES END AT 11:59PM ON 5/2/25 OR WHEN SOLD OUT. FORAY CONTESTANTS CAN ALSO REGISTER BETWEEN 9:00 - 9:30AM AT THE FESTIVAL ON 5/3/25.
